Desmond said that flood and threat of ocean surge is a problem that must be tackled urgently. He explained that flood is due to poor drainage system.

He remarked that United Nations Organization has revealed that 90% of erosion has been caused by flood. Desmond remarked that flood is a natural disaster and can be avoided.

He prayed the House to call on the Governor Sonwo-Olu to direct Commissioner for Environment and Water to ensure clearing of Canal and drainages.

Hon. Jude Idimogu said” we need to drain the canal because it is linked to the sea and lagoon.

Also, Hon Abiodun Tobun attributed flood to negligence of government.
